Are You Prepared for the Unexpected?
Tragic events in 2001 left many people concerned about the possibility of future incidents. The American Red Cross is always there with emergency relief in the aftermath of disasters...but just as important, we work in Kankakee County every day teaching people the skills they need to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and to save lives.

Now more than ever, the Red Cross is encouraging people to develop emergency response plans for their homes, workplaces and schools, so that they know how to respond to an act of terrorism or any other emergency that might occur.

There are things all of us can do to prepare for the unexpected:

1. Create an emergency response plan.

2. Talk to your childrens' schools and
ask your employer about the disaster plan for your workplace.

3. Assemble a disaster supplies kit.
